No new sedan is sold as a flex fuel vehicle today, so this is a used-car list. The most common flex fuel cars are the Chevrolet Impala (2006–2016), Ford Taurus, Ford Focus 2.0L (2012–2018), Chrysler 200 and 300, Dodge Charger and Avenger with the 3.6L V6, Buick LaCrosse, Regal and Verano, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

What to know about flex fuel cars & sedans
Flex fuel sedans were built in large numbers for fleets — police departments, taxi operators and government motor pools — which is why the Chevrolet Impala, Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car show up so often. The 1996 Ford Taurus was the first mass-produced E85 car sold in the United States, and the nameplate stayed on the flex fuel roster, with gaps, through 2019.
Among compact and mid-size cars, the 2012–2018 Ford Focus with the non-turbo 2.0L is the newest mainstream option, alongside the 2010–2013 Chevrolet Malibu, the V6 Ford Fusion (2009–2012) and the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. In every one of these, flex fuel is tied to a specific engine: the V6 Charger and Challenger are FFVs, the HEMI cars are not.
There is also a small enthusiast corner. Mercedes-Benz sold flex fuel C-Class sedans across the W203 and W204 generations plus the E350 and CLA250 4MATIC, Audi certified the 2013-on A4 and A5 2.0T, and Jaguar and Bentley produced a handful of E85-capable supercharged and W12 models.
Before you buy or fill up
- Ex-fleet cars are the bulk of this market — check service history, not just the FFV badge.
- Turbocharged versions of the same car (Fusion EcoBoost, for example) are usually not flex fuel even when the V6 is.
- Mercedes-Benz FFVs still call for premium when running gasoline; E85 satisfies the octane requirement on its own.
